Setting up Calipso

This will be an step by step guide to get Calipso working in two scenarios:
  • Empty ASP.NET Web Forms project.
  • Existing ASP.NET Web Forms project.

Requirements:

  • Visual Studio 2010 or greater.
  • NuGet 2.0 or greater package manager extension.
  • .NET Framework 4.0 or greater.
  • Visual C#. It should work on Visual Basic .NET but this case has not been tested yet.

Case 1: Empty ASP.NET Web Forms project

Calipso works on top of regular Web Forms project. Please follow these steps to install Calipso into an empty Web Forms project:
  1. Open Visual Studio and create a new ASP.NET Web Forms application (IMPORTANT: Calipso will not work with Web sites!).
  2. Right-click on newly created project in Visual Studio's solution explorer and choose NuGet package manager option.
  3. Search for ASP.NET-Calipso package in the official NuGet Gallery online source.
  4. Install ASP.NET-Calipso package.

Case 2: Existing ASP.NET Web Forms project

Calipso works on top of regular Web Forms project. Please follow these steps to install Calipso into an existing Web Forms project:
  1. Open Visual Studio and open an existing ASP.NET Web Forms application (IMPORTANT: Calipso will not work with Web sites!).
  2. Right-click on Web Forms project in Visual Studio's solution explorer and choose NuGet package manager option.
  3. Search for ASP.NET-Calipso package in the official NuGet Gallery online source.
  4. Install ASP.NET-Calipso package.
